Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using the Padaippu mobile app or website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Padaippu. If you're under 18, you may only make purchases with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secret. Notify us immediately at pidilworld@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We may suspend accounts that show signs of fraud, abuse, or sharing.

4. Purchases

Prices on Padaippu are displayed in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of applicable GST. Payment is processed by Razorpay (for one-off purchases) or Stripe (for subscriptions). By placing an order, you authorise us to charge the listed amount.

5. Digital content (ebooks & magazines)

When you buy a digital book or magazine, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to read the file on devices logged in to your account. Digital purchases are non-refundable once the file has been downloaded or opened, unless required by law. Redistribution, resale, modification, or removal of digital rights protections is prohibited.

6. Physical content (printed books)

  • Shipping is currently India-only.
  • Delivery timelines vary by pincode and courier partner; estimates shown at checkout are best-effort, not guarantees.
  • Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery if the book arrives damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered. Email us with photos at pidilworld@gmail.com to start a return.
  • Change-of-mind returns are not accepted.

7. User-generated content

When you submit content to Padaippu — ratings, comments, competition entries, or otherwise — you retain ownership of that content but grant Padaippu a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to display it within the app and on related promotional channels.

You agree not to submit content that:

  • Infringes someone else's copyright or intellectual property.
  • Contains hate speech, threats, harassment, or sexual content involving minors.
  • Violates Indian law.

We may remove any submission that breaches these rules.

8. Intellectual property

The Padaippu app, brand, design, and database structure are the intellectual property of Padaippu Pvt Ltd. Author copyrights for ebooks and magazines remain with the original authors and publishers. Nothing on Padaippu may be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.

9. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but make no guarantee of uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages (e.g. payment gateways), and force-majeure events may cause downtime.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Padaippu's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the total amount you paid to Padaippu in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits, lost reading progress, or loss of goodwill.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means acceptance. We'll notify you in-app of material changes.

12. Termination

You may stop using Padaippu at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated breaches of these terms, fraudulent activity, or abuse of staff. Termination doesn't waive obligations to pay any outstanding amounts.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
